Review by hotel critic
St. Lucia Lodge has a unique charm that speaks to both culinary innovation and the essence of the surrounding region. During our recent gourmet getaway, we enjoyed a delightful dining experience in the lodge's restaurant, where the ambiance echoed the vibrancy of local culture and nature. I savored a beautifully prepared seafood dish, complemented by locally sourced ingredients, which made me reflect on the similar culinary delights I often seek in France. The lodge's self-catering kitchen was another highlight-I found it stocked with everything necessary to create my own meals. We even prepared a traditional Spanish dish one evening, enjoying our culinary creativity. The serene pool view allowed us a peaceful moment to unwind, where we could even spot some of the over 520 bird species native to the area. The staff's kindness made us feel welcomed, echoing the hospitality often found in historic French accommodations. St Lucia Lodge not only offered comfortable lodging but also allowed us to immerse ourselves in a rich, innovative culinary experience amidst the beautiful African landscape. It's a place I would gladly revisit.
